Day 1 (Saturday):

I have done parts of this loop previously, but this is the first time putting them altogether, which turns out to be quite a good track to do.

The combination of tracks are well graded and mostly have a gravel base, making it quite easy to walk along.  There is also board walks in places, especially on Fence Line track between Auckland City Walk and Cascade track junction.

Along the track you will see large Kauri trees and also various other natives.  There is also lots of birdlife which you can hear.

The day was a stunner blue sky day with not a cloud in the sky, especially when compared with the day before where it poured with rain.  You could see along Waitakere River how high the river got and also Waitakere Dam was full as because it was spilling water.
