Lake Angelus Camera

Mountain Safety Council has introduced the first of remote mountain cameras, being Lake Angelus camera which overlooks the basin and hut.

This is a great resource for people tramping along Robert Ridge Route to Angelus Hut.

Taranaki Track Upgrades

The Taranaki Crossing is a project within the Egmont National Park, connecting and upgrading a series of walking tracks on the maunga.


A total of 25 km of tracks will be improved – creating a mix of short walks, day walks and the foundation for a multi-day walking experience at Taranaki Maunga.  Also an upgrade or replacement of the Pouakai Hut.
